Caravan Parks

Bucasia Beachfront Caravan Park, Mackay Queensland

Bucasia Beachfront Caravan Park

The Bucasia Beachfront Caravan Park is in Mackay in North Queensland. It was definitely a favourite of ours on our Big Lap, so we couldn’t wait to return and stay once again.

Macca and Patty, the Park Managers, are as good as they get and really provide a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy your stay. The park is located right near the beach. There are sites along the front with fabulous views overlooking the ocean and islands.

There’s a great pool which has been recently renovated and a BBQ area. Free Wifi is available.

The Bucasia Beachfront Caravan Park is pet friendly. We had excellent Telstra & Vodafone coverage.

Cost to stay was $45 per night for ocean view sites. It is cheaper to stay in other areas of the park.

Our stay was 11th June 2018

Apologies for the video being a little shaky, not sure why, but did my best to fix it.

Check out more things to see and do in the Mackay region here!

Samsung Note 10 Plus Phone – https://ebay.to/2XOjXhi – Most of our photos are simply from our phones. The Samsung phone cameras are pretty insane. Our phones have 512gb storage in ours but the 256gb in this one is heaps. We have sourced this one which is approx $500 less than we paid for ours.

Canon 800d – https://ebay.to/2XQYnsk – the latest DSLR Canon 24mp camera, buy here to save.
Lens – Canon 50mm lens – https://ebay.to/2yQwPed  This is the lens I use the least, ideal for still, close up shots.
Canon 24-105mm lens – https://ebay.to/3eCueUo This is my all round, every day use, zoom lens. Amazing quality, great price.
Canon 70-300mm lens – https://ebay.to/2XlOZ0I – I use this one a lot for long range shots.
Sigma 10-20mm lens – https://ebay.to/2TWt0vA  – My wide angle lens for all my inside photos & video plus lots more, love this lens.

Our Go Pro 7 Hero Black – https://ebay.to/38wMc7V  –  is an awesome piece of equipment. I use this for all underwater, action video and some general use. Buy here brand new and great value.

Mavic Pro Platinum Drone – https://ebay.to/2ARPxTo  This is an absolute ripper of a drone. The Fly More Combo will provide you with everything you will need. I use this for all my aerial footage and this price is well below other retail stores.

Caravan Parks

Our Best Caravan Parks around Australia

We love to Free camp and stay at low cost Campgrounds like most others but sometimes it’s great to have a swimming pool, a waterpark, great facilities, easy power and water access, hot showers or the feeling of safety and security most Caravan Parks provide. Over the last 4 years we have had plenty of opportunities to formulate our Best Caravan Parks around Australia.

Pools are a big consideration for us to escape the summer heat. We also choose caravan parks for their location. Great views and an atmosphere are important to us. Free Wi-Fi is another a big consideration but most fail to live up to this advertised feature.

Caravan Parks are often rated based on price, location and their facilities but the Owners and Managers can really make a caravan park more memorable than others and that’s the case for us. Some of these parks rate higher because of the fantastic attitudes of Management and Staff.

Our Best Caravan Parks around Australia

Cape Hillsborough Tourist Park

It’s not always just about how modern, how big or how much kids play equipment there is. It’s the managers who care, really really care. Those that go beyond what they have to do and make an extraordinary effort that provides you an amazing experience when staying at their park.

Some of those people are discussed here and that can play a big part of their position on our list.

So here it is, Our Best Caravan Parks around Australia and we can personally attest to them all.

Caravan Parks

Jervis Bay Holiday Park, Jervis Bay NSW

Jervis Bay

The Jervis Bay Holiday Park is just a short 5 minute drive to all the spectacular beaches and National Park walks of the Jervis Bay and Huskisson region.

We loved the good sized sites with plenty of space. The Camp kitchen is excellent with great BBQ’s, plenty of seating, a TV and a drinks machine.

For the kids there’s a Jumping castle and good playground for them to enjoy.

The Pool is perfect and includes a fun slippery side and there’s a heated spa. There’s a good amenities block available and the park backs onto the river if you want to try some fishing or launch a boat.

The Park is pet friendly and we had good Telstra & Vodafone coverage.

If you don’t want to pay the premium prices of the parks backing onto Huskisson Beach this is an excellent option.

Cost to stay at the Jervis Bay Holiday Park is $40 per night. We paid $33 for the night with our National Seniors Card discount.

Our stay was 11-14th February 2019.

Also you can book a stay in a Safari Glamping Tent, Cabin or Villa at the Jervis Bay Holiday Park here>
