TYTO Self-Contained RV Parking, Ingham Queensland

Ingham

The TYTO Self-Contained RV Parking at the Ingham Information Centre is a fantastic place to stay. It backs onto the beautiful TYTO wetlands which cover 110 Hectares.

There are walking tracks which allow you to take a stroll to see the 240 different types of birds or the resident Wallabies in the region. Maps and details are also available at the Information Centre.

The camping grounds are a 48 hour RV stay.  Simply register and pay at the Information Centre next to the campground. You are required to be strictly Self contained and absolutely no grey water can be released to protect the wetlands.

TYTO Wetlands Ingham Qld

Your Grey water can be collected within your Grey water tanks or by way of a container as long as it isn’t released at any time on to the ground. It can be emptied in the Dump Point that is available. They do check you Grey water is properly contained.

The park is Pet friendly and therefore dogs are allowed.

A potable water tap is available and there are ample bins throughout the RV park. Toilets are available, once  also available. The Dump Point is also here as well.

TYTO RV Park, Ingham Qld

The park is limited to 15 vehicles so we recommend you arrive reasonably early. They also place a chain across the entry to the parking area once they close at 5pm each night, 4pm on weekends.

The park is open from the 1st of March until the 30th of November each year.

Whilst in Ingham it’s a fantastic day trip to see Wallaman Falls.  These are Australia’s largest single drop waterfall and there are fantastic views from above at the lookout or take the walk to the base of the falls for a close up experience.

Ingham sunset

This is a must stay for bird and animal lovers. The stay is picturesque and the sunsets across the wetlands are stunning.

Cost to stay at the TYTO Self-Contained RV Parking area is great value at just $10 per vehicle per night.

Our stay was 21-22nd August 2017

Canon 800d – https://ebay.to/2XQYnsk – the latest DSLR Canon 24mp camera, buy here to save.
Lenses – Canon 50mm lens – https://ebay.to/2yQwPed  This is the lens I use the least, ideal for still, close up shots.
Canon 24-105mm lens – https://ebay.to/3eCueUo This is my all round, everyday use, zoom lens. Amazing quality, great price.
Canon 70-300mm lens – https://ebay.to/2XlOZ0I – I use this one a lot for long range shots.
Sigma 10-20mm lens – https://ebay.to/2TWt0vA  – My wide angle lens for all my inside photos & video plus lots more, love this lens.

Our Go Pro 7 Hero Black – https://ebay.to/38wMc7V  –  is an awesome piece of equipment. I use this for all underwater, action video and some general use. Buy here brand new and great value.

Mavic Pro Platinum Drone – https://ebay.to/2ARPxTo  This is an absolute ripper of a drone. The Fly More Combo will provide you with everything you will need. I use this for all my aerial footage and this price is well below other retail stores.

Adventurers Diary

Dalmeny Campground, Dalmeny NSW

Dalmeny

The Dalmeny Campground is perfectly located overlooking spectacular Dalmeny Beach.

Dalmeny is just 5 mins from the beautiful town of Narooma on the south NSW coast. The campground is located on a hilltop of sloping grounds so most sites are not level but they do provide spectacular views.

It is pet friendly and there are toilets, showers, laundry and a dump point available.

There is an IGA and fuel station across the road. There’s also a great Fish and Chips shop.

Fire pits are available for hire along with firewood.

The beach is excellent for swimming, surfing and fishing and you’ll even spot the resident Emu’s that often wander the beach.

We had good Telstra coverage and I also had 1 bar of Vodafone network.

We recommend the Tour to Montague Island called Montague Island Tours with Wazza. It was a great day out, swimming with seals and enjoying the tour of the island.

Cost to stay is $33 per night for 2 adults for powered site. Children 5-16yo are $6 each per night.
* Updated 22/1/2020 Prices vary throughout the year depending on season. Off peak is $29, Shoulder season is $34 and Peak season is $52 a night.

Check the website for more details. https://dalmenycampground.com.au/rates/

Also look for Stay 7 pay 6 nights deal.

Our stay was 22nd February and 28th February to 6th March 2019.

Camp Grounds

Congo Campground, Congo NSW

Congo Campground

Congo Campground is approx. 35kms south of Batemans Bay and just 330kms south of Sydney.

It is a bitumen road in from the north except some small sections of gravel road with minor corrugations. When exiting to the south it is a short drive on a gravel road through the National Park back to the Princess Highway.

The Campground has cold showers, toilet facilities and a basic camp kitchen. This is National Park and no pets and no fires are allowed. Weekends at Congo Campground can get very busy and there is no booking ahead, only turn up and hope a spot is available.

Camping is alongside the river although it is not connected to the ocean beach. The beach is fantastic and great for surfing and fishing. We saw dolphins go past and a guy catch a great feed of squid from a kayak just offshore.

We only stayed the one night but it’s a superb location and a fair price.

Cost to stay is $12 per adult. Children 5-15yo are $6 each per night.

Our stay was 21st February 2019.

Camp Grounds

Honeymoon Bay Campground, Jervis Bay NSW

Honeymoon Bay Campground

Honeymoon Bay Campground is one of our favourite stays in Oz, this is bush camping at its best!

The Honeymoon Bay Campground in the Beecroft Weapons Range at Jervis Bay in NSW is only open on weekends. It is owned by the Royal Australian Navy and has live firing during the week.

The gates open at 1pm and you go through a checkpoint before entering. We arrived about 12.30pm and we were one of the very last in the queue and were there about an hour, so we suggest arriving by midday which is when they begin to take bookings.

Once you arrive, head to the Information Centre and go through the booking process. There is no online booking.

Take cash, there is no Eftpos and payment is by cash only.

All sites are unpowered and there is no drinking water available.

There are portable toilets throughout the campground and bins are also available.

No pets are allowed.

We had coverage with Telstra and Vodafone.

Flying Drones are not allowed in Jervis Bay region by CASA Can I Fly There app however further research suggests it may be possible on weekends but we didn’t use ours.

Cost to stay is $15 per site for 2 adults. Extra adults are $5 each and children 15 and under are free.

Our stay was 8-9th February 2019

Honeymoon Bay – Nearby Points of Interest

The Point Perpendicular Lighthouse is just a short drive away and there are lots of great walks to places like the 5km round trip to Silica Cove Beach which was stunning. Here we came across the rusted wreck of the St Martins De Porres.
