Hello, I am thinking of purchasing your book, mostly for your reviews on the camp sites, how many camp sites do you list in the book? free? cost? etc. is it all that you used? or just the top 18 etc

      thank you

        October 11, 2018 at 6:15 pm

Hi Teresa. All our camp site videos are on our website, you can access them all for free. Use the Where to Stay button to search by type of places or destination to search by state. If you have a specific area you can try to search button 🙂
The book for sale has heaps of other information but our reviews, with videos, are all available Free. There’s about 186 I think so far, more to come soon.

I’m trying to find more information about the barra park at Howard Springs just out of darwin you show in our youtube video “120. ‘Barra Park’ Fishing and Conservation, Howard Springs Darwin” (
There doesn’t seem to be any other website that has any knowledge of this site. Even wiki camps doesn’t know about it.
Would like to stay here but cannot locate it.
can you supply any more info (contact numbers, street address, owner’s email, etc)

Hello Steve. Thanks for the message. It’s on Wikicamps and is now called Barramundi Fishing Park. Names get changed around all the time which is frustrating but at least it’s still there 🙂
It’s at 175 Bow Hunters Rd Howard Springs. Ph number is 0407 790 350.
        Enjoy 🙂

        Hello David,
Thank you so much for purchasing your copy. It is automatically sent on payment but sometimes it ends up in the Junk Mail or spam filters block it. I have just forwarded a copy to your email address.
Thank you again, we really appreciate your support 🙂
        Safe travels.

Hello Wayne. Sorry we haven’t responded sooner, we have had little coverage while on Fraser and Moreton Islands 🙂

If you buy the Ultimate Guide I’d happily provide you the Calculator for Free.

        Thanks for the message.

      Hi Kevin, Adele & Matt.
Just purchased the Trip Budget Calculator and your site advises “The receipts are stored according to the month of the expense.” before I purchased.
I can only see a summary in the download and no pages allocated for daily/monthly entries at all.
      What am I missing please.

Goodaye, well done on the article re speedometers. I have been speaking of this for some years and it is hard to get to all. I am a truckie and you spoke of contacting the truckie on UHF. Do you have a sign on the back of your motorhome, what channel do you show/monitor and what size are the letters? I started channel 18 as the vanners and now rvers channel years ago and am still trying to educate those with radios how to get the best out of them. Happy to chat on the phoine if you wish, but as you are being helpful and have some followers, thought it worth a hello to see if you are interested in another truckies view. Have you seen our shring rerst areas video, ? Cheers Rod.

Hello Rod. Thank you, I take a look at the link when I get the chance.
We just use Ch 40 when on the Highway as I often will chat to the trucks to let them know I see them and will help them pass safely. I’ve been on 18 and it’s rare there’s any discussion and to be honest that’s ok for me, enough going on anyway 🙂
        Thanks again.

Good Afternoon K&A, do you have a skype address or use it? I am working on a project that could benefit both of us from your travels but I do not wish to outline it here. If you can email so we can talk face to face, I would greatly appreciate it, but only at a time that works for you of course. (I am assuming you are, in fact, still on your travels notwithstanding the Virus!)

Hello Brodie. No don’t have Skype. Didn’t realise it still existed until Ch 9 asked to do a video there the other day lol. Very 2005 haha. Send us a message on our Facebook and we can discuss from there. We are on Fraser Island with limited coverage so video is difficult to do.

Hi Kev and Andrea – I’ve noticed a few of my images on Pinterest pointing to your site. I’ve had this happen to me, a pin I pinned diverted to my site for some odd reason, and it was a genuine mistake so I don’t want to report your account if that’s happened here too – but can you let me know and swap them over if it’s an error. My account is differentville. If you search on my name you’ll find the diverted images – there’s at least three I know of. If I don’t hear back, I’ll have to assume it’s not a mistake and report things. Sorry to leave this here, but I can’t find an email address for you/ Thanks for reading. Helen

Hello Helen, thank you for the message. We are so sorry, our tech guy put us on to a programme for our Pinterest and we didn’t realise what it would do. Immediately we realised what was happening we had it removed. We are working on how to undo what it has done. We are honestly so sorry, we would never have agreed to it if we knew what it was going to do.
        Our apologies.

Given the quote you have printed from TAs Ports in relation to Garden Island near Clarence Point , Tasmania it would be a good idea to remove the photo and heading and other comments associated with heading “best free camp in Australia”.

Hubby & I will be setting off (hopefully soon) for our ‘Ultimate Adventure’.
We’ve purchased a large truck/gooseneck rig decked out to accommodate 2x horses, 2x dogs & Us.
U mentioned travelling with your dog. Is it that difficult traveling with animals?

        January 6, 2021 at 4:50 pm

Hello Rosie, thank you for your message. Yes we travelled with MACKS our Golden Retriever for the first 16 months but had to say goodbye in Darwin.
You can read about us travelling with her here –
Now that we don’t have a dog it is sooooo much easier, for sure. There’s just so many great places you can’t stay or visit if you have pets. You can certainly travel and have fun, many do with their pets, it just provides another challenge is all 🙂
        Good luck with it 🙂

How do you guys fund this indefinite trip? Seriously it doesn’t make sense apart from possibly selling a paid out home or big inheritance. Surely for even really hard working people who might have saved $100k or so would have to return to normal life and then start from scratch again?

Seriously interested to hear the finer details on financing, I think that’s the thing that stops most people from going anywhere

        July 23, 2021 at 9:28 pm

Hi, that’s too long an answer to respond in full here. There’s several articles on our website that discuss funding, budgets, costs and some insight on how we do it.
I can tell you, no house payouts, no inheritance and we are fully funded. Not once cent from Govt funding.
Everyone’s situation is different but it’s cheaper for us to live in our Motorhome then it would be to go back home.

Love reading your stories. Re midges, did you change your fly screens in your RV to midgeproof ones? Am wondering if this is worthwhile ? Our van has the modern screens/blinds so an extra screen will hamper shutting the blinds at night and opening the window.interested in your thoughts.

Hi Sue. We are the 3rd owners of our Motorhome. We haven’t changed them but not sure if either previous owners did.
This trip has been really surprising so far, we haven’t really come across any midges.
That will likely change as we head further south from Townsville this week.
