Alongside the Caravan Park is the Mossman River. The water is shallow and clear and through this section of the river there are many locals who enjoy a swim and cool off on a hot day.

Access from the Caravan Park to Mossman River is challenging with a steep embankment which is often wet, muddy and overgrown from the regular rain the region receives.

Laundry right opposite our site at the Mossman Caravan Park

A dump point is accessible at the front of the Mossman Caravan Park from the car park.

It’s an easy walk to town which we did and enjoyed having dinner one night at The Exchange Hotel, the local Pub in Mossman.

The Midland Tourist Park is a good Caravan Park in Perth where we stayed during our month camping in Western Australia’s capital city.

This Caravan Park in Perth is located just a few kms from the fabulous Swan Valley, the premier local wine region which doesn’t disappoint.

Midland Tourist Park was primarily permanents with spaces allocated for travellers while we were there but has gone through a major transformation since our stay.

We stayed here for 4 weeks while we organised the Motorhome to be serviced, arranged a new awning and got to learn everything about the city of Perth.

We had easy access by public transport into the city and Highway access to Fremantle and Hillarys Beach.

Visit the fabulous wineries in Swan Valley

Rottnest Island is a must visit and only 19kms off Perth.

Simply take the ferry from Freemantle which takes just 25 minutes, 45 minutes from Hillarys Boat Harbour or 90 minutes if travelling from the Barrack Street Jetty in Perth.

One of the highlights of Rottnest Island is that it is one of the few places you can get up close to a quokka, the small wallaby-like marsupial. Rottnest Island also has 63 beautiful beaches and the turquoise waters are truly stunning.

There are plenty of things to see and do on Rottnest, and one day was not quite enough time to really explore this fabulous island.

Caravan Park in Albany, Western Australia

Big 4 Emu Point

We really enjoyed the Caravan Park in Albany where we stayed, located at Emu Point right on the beach.

The Big 4 Emu Beach Holiday Park is perfectly located with the sound of the ocean right behind us.

This Caravan Park in Albany is a great place to base yourself to visit the many features in the area to see.

Our site at the Big 4 Emu Park Albany Caravan Park

The town of Albany is located approximately 420kms southeast of Perth, about a 5 hour drive, in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, Australia’s largest wine region.

Albany has a population of over 34,000 and enjoys a warm, albeit short summer. The weather during winter is typically cold and wet.

It’s a great place to enjoy the sights and learn about the incredible history of one of Australia’s most important towns.

Big 4 Emu Beach Albany Caravan Park Facilities

This Caravan Park in Albany also has a jumping pillow and putt putt plus children’s playground, perfect to keep the kids entertained.

Since our stay the kids playground has further improved considerably and now looks like lots of great fun.

The Big 4 Emu Park Caravan Park backs onto the beach

Our son Matt caught some bream and other fish at night off the beach out front.

There’s also a theatre room now available for use.

There is no pool in the complex, although the beach is a stones throw away.

A new toilet block was being completed during our stay and is now also available.

There are BBQ’s in the Camp Kitchen and in 2 other locations around the Caravan Park and bins are available.

During our stay we had the best Wi-fi with good speed and unlimited download.

5 Essentials – Outside RV Accessories

  1. To plug your RV with standard 15amp in to standard residential 10amp power source you will need a converter. We love our waterproof Ampfibian and after over 4 years it’s still perfect.
  2. Most people carry a Generator for back up power. 4wd Supacentre has a good low cost and popular generator while the Yamaha 2000w is a robust yet quiet excellent performer.
  3. A 20m 15amp Power Lead will ensure you reach your power source in Caravan Parks and Campgrounds.
  4. You will want a good blue Drinking Water Hose. Your typical green garden hose is not suitable for drinking from.
  5. A 4 way tap handle will help you find water whenever you need it

Caravan Parks

Denmark Caravan Parks, WA

Big 4 Denmark

We took a look around the Denmark Caravan Parks and found the Big 4 Ocean Beach which was located opposite the Harding River where it opens out onto the ocean.

Our first impressions upon arriving was it’s a big park with lots of space and it looked really well maintained.

The position was perfect for us so we booked ourselves in for our 2 night stay.

Denmark WA is a pretty town on the Rainbow Coast in the Great Southern region of Western Australia.

Our site at the best of the Denmark Caravan Parks

Denmark is on the south coast of Western Australia approximately 430kms south east of the states capital city, Perth.

Population is around 2500 however during holiday season it increases significantly as it’s a very popular beachside location.

The town was formed in 1895 on the back of a nearby gold rush and timber milling.

Today Denmark is reliant on Tourism, Cattle and Dairy farming, the Fishing industry and the creative Arts.

There’s lots of stunning beaches, walks and trails, 4WDing tracks, kayaking, snorkelling, swimming and wineries you can visit during your stay in Denmark WA.

Ocean Beach

Denmark Caravan Parks – Facilities

The Big 4 Denmark Ocean Beach Holiday Park is in outstanding condition and the amenities and facilities are fantastic. We considered it the best of the Denmark Caravan Parks.

There’s a big enclosed Camp Kitchen plus four BBQ’s and there were other BBQ’s about the park.

We didn’t stay long enough to use the facilities but they were all in great condition and looked clean and well maintained.

Kangaroos roam this Denmark Caravan Park and there are lots of birds about also.

The Free Wifi is slow, we suggest you talk to the staff and see if they can place you where access to the internet may be best. Possibly it has improved since our stay however.

A convenience store is on site which also includes Bait and Ice and a few other items you might need during your stay.

Gas bottle refills or swap is also available.

Activities at Big 4, the best of Denmarks Caravan Parks

Denmark Caravan Parks – Activities

Children and Adults are both entertained by all the awesome things to do at the Big 4 Denmark Ocean Holiday Park.

You can enjoy the Tennis Courts, play a round on the Putt Putt Golf course, have fun playing Volleyball, let the kids go crazy on the Jumping Pillow and there’s still lots more to do.

There’s now a new big children’s playground for the kids to enjoy safely during your stay too.

It’s an easy walk across the road to the beach where kite surfers are often enjoying themselves or you can go fishing, swimming or surfing.

The nearby Ocean Beach rates in our Best Beaches in Australia 21-30

Kangaroos roam the Denmark Caravan Parks

This is your typical Big 4 with all the fun and facilities you come to expect without the Big price.

There is no pool or waterpark, however you won’t miss it.

It’s too cold to swim in Denmark most of the year and on any hot summer days there’s the river and beach very close by.

One of the fabulous attractions and just 15 minutes from the township of Denmark is the magical Greens Pool. This Western Australian beach is located just of the outskirts of William Bay National Park.

The large granite boulders surrounding Greens Pool shelters it from the Southern Ocean  making it a great place to swim in the turquoise waters and relax on the white sandy beach.

The aptly named Elephant Rocks

Elephant Rocks

Elephant Rocks are aptly named as the huge granite boulders look like a herd of elephants trampling into the water from behind.

Just a short walk from the carpark takes you to a lookout over Elephant Rocks. Take the trail that descends into the beautiful cove between the rocks.

You can walk between Elephant Rocks and the adjacent Greens Pool.
