Midskinrick Lodge & Camping, Rosedale Queensland

Midskinrick Lodge & Camping

Midskinrick Lodge & Camping is situated 1 hour north of Bundaberg and an hour south of Agnes Water/ 1770 in Queensland and this fabulous Campground is right on Baffle Creek.

The Campground owners Doug & Di are fantastic as well as Bill who works there, they will certainly look after you.

There are 2 campgrounds, the one beside Baffle Creek is set on 10 acres so there’s plenty of space and fire pits on each site. Kangaroos roam the area and can be seen most of the time.

You will have midges and possibly mosquitos so bring your insect repellent.

The fishing is great, especially if you have a boat. If not, you can catch fish by the boat ramp.

Midskinrick Lodge & Camping is pet friendly. I had good Telstra coverage but no Vodafone.

The cost to stay is $7.50 per person per night. Powered sites are available for an extra $5 per night or if you use your air conditioning it’s an extra $10 per night.

Watch the video for a look around this great campground.

Our stay was 22-23rd May 2018

Camp Grounds

Honeymoon Bay Campground, Jervis Bay NSW

Honeymoon Bay Campground

Honeymoon Bay Campground is one of our favourite stays in Oz, this is bush camping at its best!

The Honeymoon Bay Campground in the Beecroft Weapons Range at Jervis Bay in NSW is only open on weekends. It is owned by the Royal Australian Navy and has live firing during the week.

The gates open at 1pm and you go through a checkpoint before entering. We arrived about 12.30pm and we were one of the very last in the queue and were there about an hour, so we suggest arriving by midday which is when they begin to take bookings.

Once you arrive, head to the Information Centre and go through the booking process. There is no online booking.

Take cash, there is no Eftpos and payment is by cash only.

All sites are unpowered and there is no drinking water available.

There are portable toilets throughout the campground and bins are also available.

No pets are allowed.

We had coverage with Telstra and Vodafone.

Flying Drones are not allowed in Jervis Bay region by CASA Can I Fly There app however further research suggests it may be possible on weekends but we didn’t use ours.

The Point Perpendicular Lighthouse is just a short drive away and there are lots of great walks to places like the 5km round trip to Silica Cove Beach which was stunning. Here we came across the rusted wreck of the St Martins De Porres.

Cost to stay is $15 per site for 2 adults. Extra adults are $5 each and children 15 and under are free.

Our stay was 8-9th February 2019

Camp Grounds

Pretty Beach Campground, Pretty Beach NSW

Pretty Beach Campground

The Pretty Beach Campground is located in the Murramarang National Park in NSW. It is approx. halfway between Ulladulla and Batemans Bay.

Access in is by bitumen road except the last 200m which was a fairly easy gravel road capable for any 2wd.

Powered sites are available and there’s a toilet block also. Most sites are not level but easily corrected with wheel chocks.

It is a great spot with the beach so close and is perfect for swimming, surfing and fishing.

There’s a lot of wildlife including Monitor Lizards, Kangaroos, Wallabies and Kookaburras about. This is National Park and therefore no pets are allowed.

We had good Telstra coverage.

Most sites have fire pits and there’s a covered BBQ area.

Remember your NSW National Parks vehicle pass which is $8 per day or purchase a yearly pass.

Cost to stay is $34.85 per night for powered site and $24.60 for unpowered for 2 people. Extra Adults are $12 per night and children $6 per night. With our National Seniors Card we paid just $30 per night.

The Pretty Beach Campground is a great location and offers power, water, toilets and showers and therefore not your normal camping experience so whilst $35 is higher than normal it does offer a lot of extras. We would stay again for sure.

Our stay was 20th February 2019.

Safe travels
